My Mid-Life Crisis....or not?

So, I have been kind of sad the last little while. My co-workers and friends have noticed this. I know why...or at least I think I know why. Anyway, I didn't know how to get out of it. I was trying to stay busy, but that didn't work. So, I thought I would try new hobbies or activities. So...I started to watch the bachelorette. On the first episode they introduced the guys and some had dogs. One guy had a bulldog so I got it in my head that I wanted to bulldog too. So, I asked my mom if I could get one. My parents have always said, NO MORE PETS because we already have two dogs and a cat...plus lots of little kids. To my surprise, she said YES! My mom had one growing up and she loved him. So, I started looking at pictures and I got my sister interested and so that is where it all began.

 Introducing Brutus the Bulldog Baxter!

His toys and dog dish at 6 AM! I think I may train him to have a better sleeping schedule! However, last night he slept from 10-5. So, I shouldn't complain.

This is when I decided to get him:) When we were looking, all these puppies cost a lot of money! I couldn't afford one. Well, I guess that is a lie. I could, but I didn't want to fork out the money for a dog. In fact, I didn't even like dogs...but I wanted this one. Weird.

Brutus helped us in the yard one day....but not really. He just kept trying to eat my dads gloves. Ha ha.

This is how he sleeps. Weird.

He also loves to eat pants and flip flops. The goal is to get him to learn how to skate board. I tried once, but he is only 8 weeks old, so I may just have to give him more time.

Since getting Brutus, my co-workers have commented how happy I am. I tell them that Brutus is my emotional support. Its rough having the responsibility of a dog, but he is worth it. He is SO stink'n cute!!!

The Great Salt Lake

The other day I wanted to try to fly out to California on my day off. To many people, this may sound crazy because who takes a day trip to California alone? This girl:) My mom works for an airline, so I can fly for free. This is a very nice benefit, however, the last few times I tried to fly out, the flights were too full. This has not made me happy. Well, one day I was bound and determined to go to the beach, so my sister and I went to the Great Salt Lake. There I had my beach, salt water, and SUN!  I did get some, and by some I mean a lot, of sun. I loved it! Grayson and I played in the water together skipping rocks and building sand castles. Michelle and Memphis stayed in the car because Memphis didn't like all the bugs:/
Over all though, it was a fun trip and I was glad I was able to go to the beach!

The Great Salt Lake is known for their buffalo. We just took a picture.

The water at first was gross because of bugs and seagulls, but once you were in, the water was clear and pretty warm and of course, SALTY! Grayson hated getting salt in his mouth.

 Michelle and Memphis.

This looks like paradise, but the white sand is actually salt!

This makes me want to go on a real fancy vacation!

We were driving with our windows down looking at buffalo and a grasshopper came in the van and landed on my boobs! My camera was focused and so this is the picture that you get! I was probably screaming...woops!

Don't worry, a buffalo walked right in front of our car. Totally not normal!

Me and my buddy. We ended up getting in a sand fight and it was SO fun!

Bless his heart

I think I am spoiled. Not like a bad spoiled, but the spoiled in the way that when something needs fixed, I have a dad or brothers that will fix things for me. This may be bad in the long run because then I don't learn how to do things...but I am ok with it:) Anyway, the other day my tire was flat. I sent the pictures to my dad because I didn't know what to do, after all, I am just a girl.

 Here is my flat tire:(

This is the nail that flattened my tire:( My dad's only response to this picture was "You need to pick up a man, not a nail." What a mean dad!  Ha ha...its true though.

When I was in St George, Megan would ask people if they were single (of course they couldn't hear here, but I could). I think their goal is to get me to move down there now...so they are trying to find me someone to date to entice me. It probably wont work. St George is too hot! Anyway, my manager told me she wants to set me up with her nephew now. I guess we will wait and see on that one, but he is pretty young though. But I will try:)

Busy, Busy, Busy

With school being out, you would think I would have more time. I don't. I think now I just find things to do because now I have the time to do things. An example of my busy life is this:

Friday: Work 11-6
           Wedding Reception
            Drive-in
Saturday: Work 9-1
               Baby Shower
               Baby Birthday Party
               Wedding Reception

These were all planned activities, but then I decided that I should go and see a friend while I was in Salt Lake, so I did. While I was there, I kind of had a anxiety attack so I needed to get out of there. So, I decided Saturday night to drive down to St George! I called my friend Megan (yes, I have a friend named Megan and that is her actual name, and NO, we are not sisters). We left late Saturday night and drove the four hours to St George. It was really nice to sit and talk to her since I havent seen her in such a long time. Her husband had just moved to St George to start school and look for a place for them to live and she will go down there next month. We also have some other friends that live down there. For me, it was the perfect little get-a-way.

I am not big on sleeping in...so Megan and I went to the store and bought stuff to make breakfast for everyone else. We had monkey bread, watermelon, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. It was delicious! The only thing that could have made it better was Orange Julius. I was going to make it, but they didn't have any ice made:(

Chelsie is pregnant and her family was also in town, so she was with them. The boys were fixing brakes, so Megan and I went to the pool and laid out. This will be my second sun burn this week. Woops! We were only out by the pool for 20 minutes or so. It was too hot for us because we didn't have our swim suites..but we know for next time:)

Over all, it was an awesome weekend. I LOVE going to Chelsie and Eric's house. It was nice to get away if it was just for the day.

Dating Update

Well, I guess its time for a dating update.

1. Minnesota is out:( He said that logistically the relationship wouldn't work and he was too immature for a serious relationship. I can respect those reasons. I am not happy about it ending, but I can't make someone like me and I am definitely not the type of girl that chases after boys. So, that one is over and my heart is still on the mend from it. I hate feelings and emotions.

2. Rose guy. I guess he never left. I told him up front I wasn't interested and then I tried ignoring him. Neither one of those worked. So, when he texts me, I reply. I have told him and made it clear that we will not date. He said he is ok to just be friends. So, I guess we will see what happens there, but I am not going to date him because I am simply not interested. So, he still texts me about every other day and we have gone to dinner once in the last month or so.

3. Then there is the boy I grew up with that I talked about on New Years Eve. Ha ha...where to start?  I texts me a lot when he is drunk. Well, last weekend he text me saying that he wanted to know if we could hang out, but then he changed it to asking me if I would go on a date with him either Tuesday or Wednesday because he will be in town. I have not committed to either of those and I also told him to ask me when he was not drunk. I have been around enough drunk people to know to not pay attention to them when they say things while intoxicated. So, he text me again last night and asked me out again. Bless his heart. He also told me it was hard to have a crush on me. Hmmm..weird. Anyway, who knows what I will decide to do.

So, even with all this dating stuff going on, or more that I am not finding someone I like and that they live me back, I have not joined any dating websites. I am going to take the summer off and just play.

We have BEES!

The other day Michelle heard some buzzing and she looked outside. There was a swarm of bees that decided to fly to our house and begin nesting. My sister called animal control and they were not open at the time. So, she called the police and they gave her a bee keepers phone number. So, last night the bee keeper and his family came and took the bees. He taught us some cool things about bees. He said that we probably had about TEN THOUSAND bees!! It was nuts!

These are the bees in the tree.

The bee keeper and my brother looking at the bees.

The bees wouldn't go in the box, so the bee keeper was going to cut them out!

It was a success! He was able to get most of the hive out of the tree.

Yeah, those are ALL BEES!!

It's a.....BOY

Hunter Chad Baxter was born on Monday afternoon.  I don't remember his weight or his length....but lets pretend he was seven pounds 10 ounces and 19 inches long. He sure is cute. Chad and Jeni didn't find out the sex of the baby until the baby was born. Even then, they didn't tell anyone what the baby was until they came to visit them. Yay for babies!

Roosevelt Trip

This weekend my sister and I took her kids to Roosevelt to see my friend Rachel and her kids. It was her son's birthday. Rachel lives on a 200 acre farm!

We took the kids to a dinosaur museum and Tyson was showing me his dinosaur teeth.

The kids didn't want to take pictures, so I just took my own...ha ha.

Rachel and I in front of the T-Rex.

They didn't know I was taking this:)

This was everyone but me. What a good looking gang.

On our way home from the museum, Rachel stopped the car and said we were blocked. There were cows being herded across the street and then they started to CHARGING us!!! Rachel hurried and put her car in reverse and Michelle put her car in reverse and we drove backwards until the cows stopped charging us. Ha ha...what a good time.

Since Rachel lives on a farm, we went and picked asparagus! It was fun and delicious!

Yeah... we picked all these. They were phenomenal! Some of the asparagus we picked was over a foot!  So delicious!

Then, we had a hot dog party and smores. Yum! Don't worry, I know I look like trash, but I am on a farm. Don't judge.

And, how can you go to a farm and not ride a horse! Don't worry, this was my first time and I was FREAKING out...so I didn't last long on the horse. But, I did it:)

Heart Attack

So, the other day I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Not from natural causes, but from being scared to death!  At work we were having a loan training. My work is divided into two different buildings. One building is the actual bank and the other is for HR. Our building has a basement in it and there is a tunnel that connects the two buildings. Now, when the bank gets locked up at night, they lock the doors in the tunnel. The training was in the basement in the HR building. When the training was over, I walked through the tunnel to go to the bank because I needed to go and clock out.   So, I walked in one door into the tunnel and walked into the other door and it was locked. So, I go back to the other door and its locked. I start to panic. I am now stuck in the tunnel between two doors. The basement doesn't have any cell phone reception. I started to panic because no one would think to come and look for me. I was going to sit in this dark tunnel all night long!  I was FREAKING out!.  I found a light switch and turned the light on. As I looked around, I also found a phone. Luckily I am smart enough to pull out my phone and I called the branch and someone came down to get me. I as really scared for a minute because I didn't have any control. I didn't like that feeling at all.  Luckily I made it safe and I didn't die:)
